Evaluating Sport and Recreation Services

This course will no longer be offered after Fall Term 2024.

This course focuses on the concepts and methods relevant to the collection and analysis of data needed to make informed decisions about the worth or improvement of programs in sport and recreation. The course allows students to understand how research can be designed and implemented.

What you will learn

This course is designed to help you:

• Develop an understanding of the research process and its variations in assessment and evaluation projects.
• Understand the importance of evaluating programs in sport and recreation.
• Learn fundamental knowledge on all stages of the research process from design to implementation, including data collection and analysis.

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

• 4 x quizzes (70% total)
• 1 x final comprehensive test (open book, 30% total)
