This course is an introduction to the basic principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and its various applications. The first part of the course gives students a foundation in the basic principles of learning and the second part of the course covers how these principles can be used to explain and modify human behaviour. Topic areas include autism and intellectual disabilities, psychiatric disorders, school psychology, organizational behaviour management, sports and large-scale social issues.
Video-recorded lectures provide an in-class experience with the flexibility of an online course. Study guides assist students in highlighting key information. The study guide review lectures allow students to self-evaluate their work to make sure they are on track. Unit quizzes help students to master small amounts of material at a time, which will assist with retention for the final exam.

Prerequisite: Introductory Psychology (6 ch). Students who have received credit for PSYC 3663 cannot receive credit for PSYC 3315.
Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.
The exam(s) for this course will be invigilated on an approved date using Respondus e-proctoring software (LockDown Browser and Monitor). This is a free tool provided with this course, a webcam is required. More information will be given once you have been registered.
