This course has two main purposes: First, it is a foundation course in the study of economics and provides the essential building blocks for higher level economics and finance courses. Second, microeconomics can be directly applied to help solve the day-to-day decisions of business managers, including issues such as pricing, production, advertising, and strategic interaction.

Prerequisite: ECON 1013 Introductory Microeconomics, or equivalent

What you will learn

This course is designed to help you:

• Strengthen problem-solving skills.
• Learn Economic modelling and theories.
• Meet the requirement for majoring/honoring in Economics.

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

• 12 x quizzes (best 10 out of 12, 20% total)
• 1 x mid-course test (20% each)
• 1 x final exam (invigilated, 60%)

The exam(s) for this course will be invigilated on an approved date using Respondus e-proctoring software (LockDown Browser and Monitor). This is a free tool provided with this course, a webcam is required. More information will be given once you have been registered.
