Introduction to Biological Principles II

Biology BIOL 1019 Three (3) credit hours

This course is the online version of the BIOL1012 lecture course. We start off the course by building an understanding of evolutionary processes and the origin of species, then we explore biological diversity across the tree of life and discuss how organisms form communities and ecosystems.

  • This course is a great foundation for future students in biology and related academic fields of study.
  • As an asynchronous online course, the timeline for this course is flexible and is able to accommodate a busy student’s schedule. Students decide when to move to the next topic and when to write their tests/final.
  • This course introduces and discusses key concepts that science students will build upon in upper-level courses.

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

  • 2 x tests (60% total; 30% each)
  • 1 x final test (40% total)
