This is a core course for the Family Violence Issues Certificate Program at UNB but can be taken separately from the Certificate Program. It examines violence as it presents within large-scale social structures, in the fabrics of communities, as well as on relational, interpersonal and individual levels. This course will explore how gender, power and violence are inextricably linked and investigate the root causes and social factors that contribute to and intersect with gender-based violence (GBV).
Note: This course is cross listed as FVI 4339 and SOCI 4339.
Credit can only be obtained for one of CRIM 4339, FVI 4339 or SOCI 4339.
