This is an introductory level undergraduate course that will introduce you to the theory of money, history of monetary systems, deposit creation, central and commercial banking, financial market, stock exchange, monetary policy and foreign exchange market. Upon completion of this course, students should be better prepared to make investment decisions in integrated financial markets.

Prerequisite: All students taking this course must have already taken: 3 ch of first-year macroeconomics (ECON 1023 or ECON1024 or ECON 1073 or an instructor-approved substitute).

The exam(s) for this course will be invigilated on an approved date using Respondus e-proctoring software (LockDown Browser and Monitor). This is a free tool provided with this course, a webcam is required. More information will be given once you have been registered.
