This course is only open to students registered in the ABA Certificate program.

This course complements the material covered in other certificate courses by offering hands-on training and practice in the applications of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Students learn how to conduct various behaviour assessments and implement intervention strategies through instruction, demonstration, and practice.

Prerequisite: Either PSYC 3663 or PSYC 3515. Offered online only. Available only to students enrolled in the certificate program. Students who have received credit for PSYC 3325 cannot receive credit for PSYC 3535.

What you will learn

This course is designed to help you:

• Learn about the historical significance of two analysis methodologies, providing context and rationale for each allowing you to make informed professional decisions about functional analysis design and interpretation.
• Immediately apply what you have learned in each unit, gaining valuable hands-on experience with functional analysis and assessment methodology that can be readily applied to your practice.
• Build on prior knowledge, with each component building upon the last and culminating in designing and interpreting your hypothetical functional assessment.

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

• 5 x unit activities (15 points each)
• 4 x reading guides (10 points each)
• 1 x final assignment (150 points)
• 1 x final exam (invigilated, 450 points)

The exam(s) for this course will be invigilated on an approved date using Respondus e-proctoring software (LockDown Browser and Monitor). This is a free tool provided with this course, a webcam is required. More information will be given once you have been registered.
