Health and health care have never been more important in society as are the social determinants of health that impact both positively and negatively on individual and population health.
The main social determinants of health include social inequality; food insecurity; racism, colonization; intergenerational trauma; sexism; access to health care services; the environment, occupations; housing; education, and social support networks.
You will learn about these and other important health issues in the health courses from across the faculty that make up this exciting new multidisciplinary program.
This degree program prepares students for a variety of non-clinical careers such as health advocacy, health research, and wellness counseling; as well as for study in a variety of graduate programs including Health Studies and Disability Studies.
