Safewalk

Request a Safewalk and two members of our campus patrol will escort you from one place to another on campus, seven days a week from 8:30 – 11:30 p.m.

UNBSafe

Register for UNBSafe to receive emergency notifications about campus safety or security risks.

Work Alone

The Work Alone function will allow you to check in at pre-determined times to let us know that everything is ok. If you do not respond to the prompt, it will initiate a response by our staff.

The WorkAlone feature of this app is meant to assist both you and Campus Security in safely monitoring those situations where you are working by yourself for extended periods of time. For example, if you indicated that you're working alone for three hours and want to check in every 30 minutes, then the app will send you a push notification every 30 minutes.

  1. Active the WorkAlone session and fill in all the information.
  1. The app will send you a push notification asking you to check in. If you confirm you're OK, then the app, will send you another push notification at the next specified time.
  1. If you fail to check in within five minutes, the app will call Campus Security.
  1. Campus Security will receive a notification that you have failed to confirm your status and they will call you. Should that attempt to reach you fail, they will go to your location and confirm you are physically safe.
  1. Otherwise, you continue to check in at the regular intervals, and the WorkAlone ends when scheduled to.

Resources for students

Stay Safe 360 course

Safety tips

The university community can offer a very secure atmosphere and while we try to maintain the highest level of protection for all students, staff and visitors who are here, there are still things that you should be aware of.

Being prepared as to what could happen can sometimes be your best defense in that you will know how to react if something should occur.
