New students starting in September 2025 (25/FA) or January 2026 (26/WI) with no previous post-secondary education (university or college) should review the 2024-2025 advising information below for advising information on how to plan and register for courses. This information is updated throughout the year as necessary.
Information for the 2025-2026 academic year will be updated and posted in early May ahead of SOAR (Spring Orientation, Advising and Registration) on Saturday, May 24, 2025 which will be your first opportunity to get registered.
Choosing your courses
These advising tools will help you choose your courses for the year.
- Activating your IT services and setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA): Activating your UNB IT services gives you access to your myUNB Intranet and UNB email. From your myUNB Intranet, you are able to access student planning & registration, course registration, financial information and more. To activate your IT services account, use your student number and login ID that was included in your acceptance letter.
- Read through the Faculty of Arts advising instructions for a guide to planning your courses.
- Our advising and course groupings sheet lays out the potential courses that you can choose from in your first-year.
- Log into your myUNB Intranet then come back and use these tools. Use the How to Register Quick Reference for information on planning and registration. There is also an instructional video to assist you.
Due to asthma and allergies please refrain from smoking and wearing perfume, cologne, deodorant, after shave, body spray and other scented products when you attend advising.
