Tim is an enthusiastic leader with 15 years of food manufacturing experience spanning a wide range of food processing industries. He holds a B.Sc., from Memorial University with a specialization in microbiology and food safety systems. He is a National Board Member with Food Processing Skills Canada which leads the food processing industry in skills development and training and holds a position on the Board of Directors for Chocolate Festival Inc.
Prior to joining Ganong in 2013, Tim travelled North America performing microbiological investigations and conducting food safety and quality audits. Presently, Tim holds the Director of Operations position with Ganong Bros., LTD., Canada’s oldest independently family owned chocolate and confectionary company, located in St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
Dr. Robert M. Campbell, CM was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in June 2018. He previously served 12 years as President and Vice-Chancellor of Mount Allison University.
Dr. Campbell was educated at Trent University, the University of Toronto, and the London School of Economics, where he gained his doctorate. He taught political science and public policy at Trent for two decades, receiving the Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1994 and becoming Provost and Dean of Arts and Science. He then moved to Wilfrid Laurier University as its first Dean of Arts. He became Mount Allison University’s 14th President and Vice-Chancellor in 2006.
Dr. Campbell has served on the boards of a number of professional organizations, including the Association of Atlantic Universities (which he chaired from 2010-13), Universities Canada (serving on the executive from 2010-13), the Atlantic Institute of Market Studies (AIMS), Rothesay-Netherwood School, the Educational Computing Network (chair) and Atlantic University Sport (serving as vice-chair). He was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2016 for his contributions to academia, as an authority on postal services, and as President of Mount Allison University.
Dr. Campbell was named a Top 50 CEO by Atlantic Business Magazine five times and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2016. Throughout his career, Dr. Campbell has also maintained an active research program on Canadian politics and postal systems. He is the author of nine books on Canadian political economy and public policy, most recently postal policy (The Politics of Postal Policy and The Politics of Postal Transformation). He has edited and chaired the board of The Journal of Canadian Studies. He is an international expert and consultant on postal matters and carried out a strategic review of Canada Post for the federal government in 2008.
The President and CEO of the Port of Belledune, Denis Caron has a proven track record of building successful partnerships with business, government, and community leaders. A senior executive with more than 35 years’ experience working in across all levels of government, Mr. Caron has demonstrated an ability to successfully negotiate dozens of projects and initiatives with provincial, federal, community, and industry leaders while supporting various mandates. He has also delivered, throughout his career, on the transition from strategy to tactical execution by developing and sustaining effective dialogue with and among stakeholders and key decision-makers.
A Business Administration graduate of the Université de Moncton, he went on to complete his accreditation in the Banff Centre’s program of Executive Leadership Development.
Mr. Caron’s public sector experience includes almost ten years as a Deputy Minister to several departments such as Environment and Local Government, Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Fisheries, and Economic Development. With his strong foundation in business, he managed multiple agency budgets and client financial assistance programs, including a loan portfolio of more than $500 million, and enabled multi-party investments in community development of more than $1 billion.
After retiring from the Provincial Government, Mr. Caron returned to northern New Brunswick in 2015 to accept the role of President & CEO of the Belledune Port Authority, where he continues to deliver results from a vision of growth and successful regional development. He is passionate about the region and works relentlessly to support local economic and social development by maximizing results for the Port.
A father and husband, Mr. Caron is a member of the NB Business Council and an active member of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities.
Don Drummond is the Stauffer-Dunning Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University. In 2011-12, he served as Chair for the Commission on the Reform of Ontario’s Public Services. Its final report, released in February 2012, contained nearly four hundred recommendations to provide Ontarians with excellent and affordable public services.
Mr. Drummond previously held a series of progressively more senior positions in the areas of economic analysis and forecasting, fiscal policy and tax policy during almost 23 years with Finance Canada. His last three positions were respectively Assistant Deputy Minister of Fiscal Policy and Economic Analysis, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister of Tax Policy & Legislation and most recently, Associate Deputy Minister. In the latter position he was responsible for economic analysis, fiscal policy, tax policy, social policy and federal-provincial relations and coordinated the planning of the annual federal budgets.
He subsequently was Senior Vice President and Chief Economist for the TD Bank (2000-2010), where he took the lead with TD Economics’ work in analyzing and forecasting economic performance in Canada and abroad. For Canada, this work was conducted at the city, provincial, industrial and national levels. TD Economics also analyzes the key policies which influence economic performance, including monetary and fiscal policies. He is a graduate of the University of Victoria and holds an M.A. (Economics) from Queen’s University. He has honorary doctorates from Queen’s and the University of Victoria and is a member of the Order of Ontario.
John Elink-Schuurman manages the Virginia Economic Development’s award-winning international trade accelerator program, the Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) Program. John assists Virginia exporters execute measurable international business plans, across industries and markets, and has led trade missions throughout the Middle East and Latin America. Prior to joining the International Trade team, John worked on the VEDP’s Business Attraction team, recruiting European companies to invest in Virginia.
Before joining the VEDP, John was Principal with PSD Global, an economic development consulting firm, and his public and private sector experience includes serving as Deputy Director for External Relations at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) in Washington DC, and business development positions in the renewable energy and mobile telecom sectors. John has worked on trade and investment projects with public sector clients such as IE Singapore, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Embassy of Brazil, Japanese Trade Office, (JETRO), Invest in Bogota and the Mexican Ministry of Economy.
John was born in the Netherlands, and educated in the United States. He holds a Masters in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University, and has completed post-graduate work from Georgetown University and the George Washington University.
Stephen Lund is a native of Saint John, New Brunswick, with over 30 years of experience in economic development, corporate banking, venture capital, and international finance.
Since 2015, Stephen has been the CEO of Opportunities NB (ONB), the lead business development organization in New Brunswick, and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Small Business. Under Stephen’s leadership, ONB has consistently exceeded results and outperformed every other Canadian economic development agency on a per capita basis. And its results exceeded every similar organizations in the province over the past 20 years. ONB has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers for three years in a row and one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2018.
Active in both business and community organizations, Stephen is currently on the Board for the Conference Board of Canada and has served on boards for the IWK Health Centre and the QE2 Hospital Foundation. He’s a big supporter of Junior Achievement and was the inaugural Chair of the Heart & Stroke Hockey Heroes Fundraiser.
Stephen earned a prestigious X ring from St. Francis Xavier University, holds an MBA from Queen’s University, obtained an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and completed executive level studies at Harvard, University of Chicago and Queen’s.
Ron Marcolin is a seasoned business executive with 25+ years experience in various senior management roles in both Calgary and Saint John.
He is currently Divisional Vice President of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and represents the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. He represents membership in all provincial government advocacy, public policy, membership programs and services, events and education. CME helps increase manufacturing output and value-added exports by calling on industry, government and all public and private supporting institutions to focus efforts on developing a skilled workforce, supporting innovation and commercialization, increasing investment in and leveraging new technologies, opening new markets, and ensuring a competitive environment in which to manufacture, innovate, and grow.
Ron has earned his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario and also holds a Diploma in Petroleum Land Management from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. He is a native of Trail, British Columbia and began his career in the petroleum industry in Alberta shortly after graduation. He has worked in the professional services industry with firms such as Grant Thornton and Deloitte and most recently in the consulting world with both Ducks Unlimited Canada and Voice of The Client Inc.
As an active member in the community, he is currently on The Board of Directors of The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation. He is former Chair of The United Way of Greater Saint John as well as former Chair of various committees within The Saint John Board of Trade and The Alberta Children’s Hospital. Leading up to and including 2012, he Chaired The Memorial Cup Bid Committee for The Saint John Sea Dogs Major Junior Hockey Club.
Greig Mordue is the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Chair in Advanced Manufacturing Policy and Associate Professor in the School of Engineering Practice and Technology in the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University. He assumed his current position in 2015.
Prior to that, he was General Manager of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) responsible for Corporate Planning and External Affairs. During his 20-plus years with Toyota he held a range of responsibilities related to Government Relations, Human Resources and Strategic Planning. Before joining Toyota, Dr. Mordue worked as a Special Assistant to the Treasurer of Ontario and Ontario Minister of Finance, the Ontario Minister of Financial Institutions and the Ontario Leader of the Official Opposition.
He holds a B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University, a B Comm. from the University of Windsor, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland and a PhD in Management from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
Adrienne O’Pray is a seasoned organizational leader, with more than 25 years’ experience in senior management positions in the public and private sectors.
Adrienne is currently President & CEO of the New Brunswick Business Council. She is responsible for leading the Council in its work to champion entrepreneurship and promote robust economic policy debate and development in New Brunswick.
Adrienne has earned an MBA from the University of New Brunswick and a BSc from Dalhousie University. She is also a Certified Fierce Conversation Leader, and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Not-For-Profit Governance program, as well as Queen’s University’s Executive Education Program.
Last May, Adrienne was recognized by the Public Policy Forum based in Ottawa being awarded the Frank McKenna Award for Public Policy presented to distinguished Atlantic Canadians who have built bridges between sectors, contributed to public policy and shown exceptional leadership.
In 2008, she was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 by Caldwell Partners, as announced in the Globe and Mail. She has also been awarded the Certificate of Achievement by the Faculty of Business Administration University of New Brunswick.
Keith Parlee has 30 years of progressive and varied executive experience. From ownership of privately held firms, to leadership roles working for, or with, fortune 500 companies.
In 2010, Keith joined Apex Industries a multi-divisional Atlantic based manufacturer. The company manufactures and ships products globally in various business sectors including Aerospace and Defence, Oil and Gas, Mining, Marine, Optical, Construction and Consumer Products. Capabilities range from the manufacture of aerospace structures to custom steel, security and detention doors, to complex machined and fabricated components. The company also provides door opening solutions distributing doors, frames and hardware, garage doors and electronic access equipment out of several locations in Atlantic Canada. More recently APEX has developed a proficiency in providing turnkey product development solutions; from design and prototype, to the complete manufacture of finished equipment, electronics and software.
Keith is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, holding a Bachelor of Public Relations. He began his business career in the packaged goods industry, holding posts in Halifax, St. Catharines, and Toronto with General Foods, Kraft and AC Nielsen.
Keith relocated back to Atlantic Canada in 1995, where he spent ten years as the President/co-owner of a privately held industrial products company, which was later divested to a public company. During the transition, Keith was appointed VP & General Manager of Wolseley Industrial Products responsible for Canada. Concurrently, he sat on the Board of the parent company - Wolseley Canada, a multi-divisional firm with revenues north of $1 Billion mark.
Keith is also the Board Chair of Harvest House Atlantic, a nonprofit Homeless Shelter/Recovery Mission, and is an active member of Squash Moncton.
Carson Roussel is VP of Finance and Co-Owner of MQM Quality Manufacturing Ltd. MQM Quality Manufacturing is a leader in Canada’s steel structure fabrication and installation industry. Headquartered in Tracadie, northeastern New Brunswick, the Company has developed a full service, multi-disciplinary industrial construction expertise. MQM serves various industries including the Oil and Gas, Mining, Forestry, and General Commercial Construction segments.
Carson holds a bachelor degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Université de Moncton as well as the designation CPA, CGA. As an active member in the community, he currently serves on various committee and boards including the Conseil Économique du Nouveau-Brunswick. Prior joining MQM, Carson worked at Acadian Peat Moss which has one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the industry where he played various roles from Financial Controller to Director of Sales and Business Development for various market, including USA, Mexico, and Asia.
Jennifer Wilson is the former Chief Financial Officer for AIL Group, a civil engineering and manufacturing company headquartered in Sackville, New Brunswick. She now serves as a Senior Adviser and Board Member for AIL Group.
Prior to joining AIL Group she worked as a consultant for Bain & Company in the UK and as a researcher at the Rocky Mountain Institute and Oxford Institute for Enterprise and Environment.
