JDI Roundtable on Manufacturing Competitiveness in New Brunswick

The University of New Brunswick wishes to thank J.D. Irving, Limited, for supporting the JDI Roundtable on Manufacturing Competitiveness in New Brunswick. The Roundtable's research and outreach programs have turned the dial on awareness of manufacturing's growth capacity as a cornerstone of the New Brunswick economy.

Building on this early success, UNB is investing in R&D and innovation to improve manufacturing competitiveness with productivity advancements. Manufacturing will continue to be a research focus at UNB through the work of the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, the Ballistics and Mechanical Test Lab, the Wood Science Technology Centre and the Off-site Construction Research Centre.

Read the results from the 2019 Forum

The first year of the JDI Roundtable on Manufacturing Competitiveness in New Brunswick Forum included a challenge from Premier Blaine Higgs leading to three recommendations for economic action, followed by a final comprehensive report covering the entirety of the 2019 Forum. The findings help establish a baseline for N.B.'s manufacturing sector, identifying challenges and opportunities heading into Year 2.
