This degree specializes in Wabanaki languages, culture and worldviews through involvement of Indigenous Elders and Knowledge keepers. Students complete entire degree from home with expectations of land based gatherings. Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqey language certificate embedded within the degree; includes four language courses and half of the practicum involved with teaching language in a community school.
Graduates are qualified for New Brunswick teacher certification level IV with the possibility of an additional year for a certification level V upgrade.
