Melissa Dawe is Chief of Staff in the Office of the President at the University of New Brunswick.
As Chief of Staff, Melissa supports the President's overall leadership of the university. This role is both internally and externally focused and works with senior leaders to provide advice and guidance in the development of a range of strategies that affect the overall performance of the university. In times of crisis, whether a global pandemic or an isolated incident, Melissa works with and supports the President and senior leaders to respond appropriately, taking into consideration a range of contexts.
Melissa holds a BScE and MScE in Civil Engineering from the UNB. Prior to her current role, Melissa worked as a hydrogeologist and engineer with Jacques Whitford Ltd across the Atlantic Provinces.
Melissa returned to UNB in 2009 as project manager for the University’s strategic planning initiative. In addition to her role with strategic projects in the President’s office, Melissa was Program Director for Shad UNB from 2013-2019.
