Get Involved

Our research-based interventions can be delivered just about any time (from admission and beyond) and anywhere – both in the classroom and online.

You can bring growth and social belonging to your students and faculty and staff. Our flexible and cost-effective delivery options ensure there’s a project to meet the unique needs of your faculty or unit.

Peer messages and reflection exercise

Students are exposed to video, written or in-person messaging of personal stories told by:

  • peer exemplars (individuals identified as belonging to a marginalized group)
  • counter-stereotypical (members of majority groups)

These stories communicate the idea that challenges and worries about success and belonging are normal, common to most students and can be overcome with time and effort.

Following exposure to these messages, students are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences in the form of a short-written exercise.

This program can be delivered in a classroom or online.

Length: 45 mins.

Mindset workshops for faculty and staff

This course is designed to teach the basics of belonging to educators using activities, videos and scientific literature to present:

  • what belonging is
  • why it’s important
  • how it impacts students in the classroom
  • ways of harnessing it to support your students

This program can be delivered in a classroom or online.

Length: 45 mins.

Mindset workshops for students

This workshop teaches students the fundamentals of growth mindset, including concepts such as:

  • intelligence can be developed
  • the brain is malleable
  • challenging work is the best way to make the brain stronger and smarter

Beyond simply telling students to have a growth mindset, this workshop uses scientific and practical explanations about how intelligence works.

In the same way, students won’t be just be told to ‘try harder’. Instead, students will learn why they should put in the effort and how to best deploy that effort.

This program can be delivered in a classroom.

Length: 50 to 75 mins.
