Child Rights Symposium

GlobalChild and African Child Policy Forum

Oct. 23 | 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

GlobalChild in partnership with the African Child Policy Forum would be organising a one-day symposium themed ‘Child Poverty’. The object is to broaden or improve, among policy practitioners, the understanding of the impact of child poverty on overall socio-economic development and share experiences of countries that are succeeding at reducing it.

The event which is designed as a high-level event to bring together globally renowned experts in child rights and practitioners based in Ethiopia for a conversation centred around this theme. The relevancy of the foregoing is the fact that the African continent is reputed to have the youngest population in the world and nearly half of the same population is under 18 years of age. The Symposium is expected to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, formation and strengthening of partnerships with the potential to sustainably combat child poverty in Africa and beyond.
