Born in Cameroon, Marcel graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Growing up, sports have been a huge part of my identity. From competitive swimming and soccer in high school to Varsity soccer in university. But unfortunately, due to injuries, I had to take a step away from soccer.
My love for Fitness could not let me stay away from sports, so dancing was the second closest thing that could give me that same feeling. I joined a Zumba class for the first time at university and instantly knew that this was something I would like to lead one day. So, I combined my love for music and my love for dancing together, and 4 years later I got my teaching license, and it is the best decision I ever made.
I have a passion for music, Be it listening, playing, or dancing any style to it. I always tell my participants that they should treat the class as happy hour. Just have fun with the music. if there's a movement that you don't seem to get, create your own. There are no mistakes, just freestyle moments.
My class is normally more intense because my music choices are more high-energy, but you get what you put in. All high-energy movements have low-energy variations, so you choose what works best for you. Nonetheless, we get lost in the Music and we find ourselves in Shape.
