Fitness testing
REDS Recreation conducts fitness tests and job-related assessments for individuals and groups. Testing services include (but are not limited to): body composition analysis, VO2 max testing, general fitness testing, strength testing, and occupational testing (e.g., PARE Test).
Recommendations
- Do not eat a heavy meal, drink caffeinated beverages, or smoke two hours prior to the appointment.
- Do not drink alcohol or participate in strenuous physical activity six hours prior to the appointment.
- Do come with an open mind
Fitness testing fees
- General Fitness Assessment (CSEP PATH): $70 members | $80 non-members
- Body composition: $45 members | $60 non-members
- Advanced body composition analysis: $85 members | $100 non-members
- Vo2 max: $100 members | $125 non-members
- Indirect VO2 max: $44 members, up to 6 people | $55 non-members, up to 6 people
- Strength testing: $60 members | $70 non-members
Occupational testing fees
- PARE test: $70 members and non-members
- NP power testing: $80 members and non-members
- COPAP: $80 members and non-members
- RCMP CEP rate: $80 members and non-members
- FFE testing: $70 members and non-members
Note: All prices are subject to HST.
PARE testing
- The cost of the test is $70 plus HST and can be paid online when you register or over the phone with a credit card
- All testing will take place in the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER (15 Peter Kelly Drive) at UNB. Parking is available.
- Proper clothing and footwear to run the test are required.
- Bringing a water bottle is recommended
- Paperwork will be required to fill out upon arrival. If you have a medical form, please bring that with you. This is not mandatory unless you have immediate health concerns.
- Cancelled tests are subject to a $25 cancellation fee. Rescheduled tests will not be subject to a fee.
