At age 4 I began practicing gymnastics and competed up until the age of 14. During my high school and early university years, I was involved in cheerleading & tumbling. It was when I began my career with the City of Fredericton that I began to pursue yoga as a way of dealing with the stressors and difficulties of being a first responder.
Fitness became an outlet for me to deal with a lot of the challenging experiences I have heard, witnessed, and had to overcome. After being diagnosed with PTSD I wanted to pursue trauma-informed yoga to help other first responders who had experienced injuries both physically and mentally. I pursued many certifications in the yoga realm including most recently barre.
My classes include anatomical knowledge and sequencing, dynamic and held postures, yoga philosophies (yoga sutras, yamas, niyamas, etc), some history and many other components of a yoga practice.
