Being active has always been a large part of my life. After completing my degree in Recreation Sport Studies at UNB, I developed a passion for community health and wellness. I followed my passion and have become a Certified NB Teacher in ASD-W School District, specializing in Physical Education and Elementary Education.
In addition to being a public-school teacher and group fitness instructor at UNB, I spend evenings volunteering with Special Olympics – Capital Region as a floor hockey, softball, and track and field coach.
Being active, meeting new people, and giving back to my community brings me tremendous joy. I enjoy a variety of activities such as biking, running, yoga, indoor cycling, strength training, and golfing, to name a few.
I have been fortunate to be able to participate in group fitness classes as a UNB student and now instruct group fitness classes. I strive to bring a fun and energetic atmosphere into all classes I teach. Every class is designed for participants to find what is challenging and fun for them.
All classes are rooted with fundamental movements that focus on strength-based exercises, balance, mobility, and flexibility. Many variations of movements are offered throughout a class to allow every participant to select an exercise that pushes them to their best. I want every participant to leave class having enjoyed moving their body and feeling stronger.
