Full-time students in the thesis/report stream complete a total of 18 credit hours (6 courses) in year 1 and thesis/report work in year 2.
Part-time students in the thesis/report stream complete a total of 18 credit hours (6 courses) in years 1, 2 and 3 and focus on the completion of their thesis/report work in year 4.
Part-time students generally complete 1 course per term and as their personal schedules allow, some complete up to a maximum of 2 courses per term.
All students in this stream must complete a thesis or report.
Students in this stream have the opportunity to engage and work collaboratively with a practice partner to complete their thesis/report. The nature and scope of collaborative projects will be determined through a cooperative process involving the student, partner and a faculty member.
Examples of collaborative projects include:
- Addressing a specific concern of nursing practice by engaging in policy development.
- Developing a clinical pathway incorporating the best available evidence.
- Collaborating with a practice partner to propose and complete an evidence-informed, action-oriented, collaborative, community-based intervention.
- Scoping review of current evidence focused on topic that is of relevance to practice partner.
