This seminar is also offered as part of the Human Resources Management Program.

This seminar addresses the structure of Canadian unions, principals related to collective bargaining, steps in negotiating a union contract and techniques in dispute resolution.

You will also discuss how unions affect the human resources management environment and ways to improve union-management relations. The seminar will summarize the safety and health responsibilities of employers and employees.

Upon successful completion of this seminar, you will be able to:

  • Learn how a union organizing campaign is carried out

About the instructor

Moira Goodfellow is a labour and employment lawyer with substantial management-side experience. Moira acts as Labour Relations Specialist and Human Resources Counsel at UNB.

In this role, she is responsible for a variety of employee and labour relations activities including acting as chief spokesperson on behalf of the university in collective agreement negotiations, interpretation and application of UNB’s various collective agreements and managing issues in the workplace.

Moira has an L.L.B. from Dalhousie University and has been a practicing member of the Law Society of New Brunswick since 2007.
