Postdoctoral Match-Funding Program

The Postdoctoral Match-Funding Program, offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, aims to recruit and support exceptional postdoctoral scholars applying for the AARMS Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

This initiative provides partial salary support for postdoctoral associates who are highly competitive for external awards and will contribute to advancing the department's research objectives. Funding will be awarded competitively and is contingent upon securing an AARMS Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Value: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics will provide $20,000 per year. The postdoctoral associate's faculty supervisor will offer employer-paid benefits. Supervisors of international postdocs are also responsible for paying the Compliance Fee to support the work permit application process.

Duration: One year, with the possibility for renewal for a second year, subject to satisfactory performance and submission of the Annual Progress Report. Award holders must apply for all other fellowship awards for which they are eligible to qualify for renewal.

Eligibility: Individuals who have completed their PhD within the past four years, are applying for the AARMS Postdoctoral Fellowship, and anticipate starting a postdoctoral appointment within 12 months are eligible. The deadline for applying for the AARMS Postdoctoral Fellowship is Nov. 15, 2024.

See the AARMS Postdoctoral Fellowship for more information on the process.
