Marina began playing soccer at the age of 7 and has not stopped since. During her 4 years playing for her high school team, the Bayside Red Devils, her team captured the COSSA Championship 2 times and came 2nd in their region. This past season as a high school senior, Marina's team made it all the way to the OFSAA championship. Over the past several years of soccer, Marina has also received numerous MVP awards.
Marina's favourite part of playing soccer is the competitive nature of the sport. She is a competitive person, and the translation of her personality on the field makes her the excellent keeper that she is. This season, Marina is looking forward to getting to know her team since she is in her rookie year; she also hopes to finish higher than last year's squad in the ACAA rankings.
Choosing to take the Bachelor of Science at UNBSJ was an easy choice for Marina as she hopes to become a Marine Biologist. Her love of animals, and her interest in learning about the ocean and the creatures that live in them have driven Marina's desire to pursue a career in Marine Biology. Marina hopes to help the planet as a whole, by studying and understanding marine ecosystems. Outside of school and soccer, Marina enjoys animals, as well as playing hockey, basketball, and rugby.
