The Spectral Lab is currently spearheaded by UNB’s Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab, under the leadership of Dr. Scott Bateman.
The HCI Lab is a leader in research in immersive technologies, with a focus on facilitating remote collaborative work. Their research also includes human-robot interaction, mixed reality, novel interactions and game design. The lab often targets applications in health and therapy, such as training and rehabilitation, and collaboration for work and play. Dr. Bateman and his research team have been providing support to commercial teams working in the aerospace sector for over 3 years.
Dr. Scott Bateman is an associate professor of computer science at UNB and director of the HCI Lab. His current research focuses on designing and building technology that works best for people, particularly novel input interactions, visual analytics and computer-based collaboration.
