Scarborough Charter

UNB is a proud signatory of the Scarborough Charter on Anti-Black Racism and Black Inclusion in Canadian Higher Education. We are committed to building an institution where Black students, staff, faculty and community members can thrive.

Our commitment

We are working to:

  • Advance Black inclusion and equity across campuses.
  • Build strong, sustainable relationships with Black communities.
  • Develop clear accountability structures.
  • Use data to guide change and measure progress.

Scarborough Charter Implementation Committee (SCIC‑UNB)

Led by the Human Rights and Equity Office, SCIC‑UNB is a university-wide advisory group made up of Black-identifying students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members.

The Committee supports the implementation of the Charter, helps track progress and ensures that Black voices are centered in this work.
