ADM 2223 is a 3 ch course.
Emphasizes the role of the accounting function in managerial decision-making. Traditional job costing and activity-based costing stressed. Appraises the use of standard costing and variance analysis as tools for management control. Examines flexible budgets, break-even analysis and contribution costing in decision-making.
Prerequisite: ADM 1213.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's level degree in a field relevant to the topic area as well as for business disciplines having work or practice experience, or having been an actively serving member of a board of directors, or having had significant participation in professional associations or standard/policy-making bodies within the last five years. Consideration may be given to applicants possessing an undergraduate degree in combination with a relevant professional designation. Previous experience teaching in a university environment will be considered an asset.
