Curriculum Context

Required second year clinical course in the Bachelor of Nursing Program.



Course Description

In various clinical settings, students will be provided opportunities to assess, implement and evaluate care with young families, clients living with mental health challenges or chronic health issues.

Pre-or Co-requisites: NURS 2135 , NURS 2177 and NURS 2145.



Qualifications

A Bachelor Degree or higher in Nursing and active registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick is required; current CPR-HCP (also accept BLS for Healthcare Providers). Recent relevant clinical experience in chronic care, mental health and maternity nursing is preferred. Previous teaching experience would be considered an asset.



Additional Notes

Clinical dates may vary within the term and will be discussed with incumbent. Number of days for clinical time will be calculated to include clinical days and time for evaluation/preparation. Total days/hours will vary depending on group numbers.

Number of positions available is dependent upon final class enrolment.

Currently, there are three positions available:

- One position in Chronic care (Fredericton)

- Two positions in Mental Health (2SE DECH)

You will be required to meet Horizon Health Network placement requirements which may include Criminal Record Check, Immunization requirements and online orientation modules.
