Family members or friends of graduates who are UNB alumni, and would like to attend the ceremony, are welcome to participate. For more information about the alumni honour guard, or to reserve regalia, email your name, height and degree information to Natasha_Rene.Rego@unb.ca by Friday, May 1, 2026.
If you would like to rent regalia to have professional grad photographs taken, the UNB Bookstore in the Student Union Building rents regalia for $5.75 per business day.
If you would like to have professional grad photographs taken, Photography Flewwelling will take them and provide academic regalia. Call 506-633-0045 Ext. 2 to make an appointment and visit the studio at 85 Princess Street, Saint John.
If you would like to rent regalia to have professional grad photographs taken by a different photographer, the Campus Store in the G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre can assist. Please note that only graduation photographs taken by Photography Flewwelling are included in the class composites hung in the tunnels.
When you applied to graduate you were asked to extend permission for UNB to list your name in graduation collateral, both online and in print. If you did not give consent, this also extends to not allowing your grad photo to be placed in the class composite*, a grad photo display created by Photography Flewwelling and hung in Hazen Hall.
Following Fall graduation, those who did not give consent will receive an email from the Registrar’s Office asking for confirmation on placement in the composite. Please watch for the email and respond accordingly.
*Each year, Photography Flewwelling creates a composite which contains the graduation photographs of students graduating in Saint John. (Only graduation photographs taken by Photography Flewwelling are included.). After you receive the images, you can select which photograph you would like included in the composite; regardless of whether you place an order or not.
If you do not let Photography Flewwelling know which photograph to use, its staff will select for you. For further information, please contact the company at 506-633-0045.
The UNB photographer will take a photograph of each graduate receiving a degree parchment on the platform or stage. You will be able to easily download a free print quality photograph a few weeks after the ceremony. Details will appear in the graduation program. UNB is committed to protecting personal information. If you have any privacy concerns, contact the University Secretariat, at secretariat@unb.ca or 506-453-4613.
Please encourage your guests to take their photographs prior to and/or after the ceremony. We ask that guests not come to the platform or stage to take photos.
Frame your success! Purchase a degree parchment frame from your UNB Associated Alumni and display your degree with pride.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, arrangements can be made to pick up your parchment, by booking an appointment.
Degree parchments designated as “to be picked up” (by the graduate or a designated individual) will only be held at the Registrar’s Office for three weeks after the ceremony. They will then be mailed to the graduates’ addresses appearing on the application to graduate forms.
For graduands who selected to have their degree parchments mailed, they will be sent out the week of June 1, 2026.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your name will not be announced but will appear in the program.
If you are an undergraduate student who needs to update the address you provided on your application to graduate, email grads@unb.ca (Fredericton campus) or unbsjreg@unb.ca (Saint John campus). For graduate students, email andrea.ruehlicke@unb.ca.
Have you joined the official UNB Fredericton Class of 2026 Facebook group or the UNB Saint John Class of 2026 Facebook group? These groups are intended for those students planning to graduate from UNB Fredericton and UNB Saint John in both the spring and fall of 2026.
