Today's UNB Student Campus Patrol was officially constituted in February 1947 (originally called Campus Police) and has been working since then to ensure the safety of UNB's students, staff and faculty.
We are comprised entirely of, and administered by, UNB students. Operating as a service based organization under the oversight of UNB Security, the Campus Patrol provides an exceptional employment opportunity to students of the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus.
We strive to train our security service to meet very professional standards and are constantly seeking students who promote this ideal.
Five principal functions:
Campus Patrols operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. – 3 a.m. These patrols are primarily for the purpose of protecting UNB students and visitors while they are on campus, as well as to ensure the protection of UNB property from vandalism and to uphold the Student Disciplinary Code regulations. If you experience a problem on campus during these hours or require assistance, please either contact the security office or one of our patrols.
Our patrols are equipped with radios to communicate quickly and easily with the security office in case of problems or emergencies. They are also equipped and trained with Red Cross First Aid and CPR training. Should you need these services, please don't hesitate to contact our patrols for assistance.
