UNBSafe is a mass communication tool that will send alerts to students, faculty and staff in situations that pose an immediate safety or security risk to our community.
You will only receive notifications from UNBSafe when there is an urgent safety or security risk, including:

All UNB email addresses are automatically set up to receive email alerts. Users must subscribe to receive alerts by text my entering their number in the appropriate locations you with to receive alerts.
Notifications will only be sent when an urgent safety or security risk arises. This includes storm closures, power outages, incidents such as fires or chemical spills, and active threats on campus. When an issue is resolved, an “all clear” notification will also be sent.
All university accounts associated with the Fredericton campus, Saint John campus and Moncton site will automatically receive UNBSafe emails. The UNBSafe app can be downloaded as a free app from the Google Play and Apple stores. Sign up for text notifications by entering your mobile number in the appropriate location and select Sign Up.
A mass notification system allows UNB to quickly contact faculty, staff and students in urgent situations that pose a safety or security risk to the community. These notifications can be sent by email, text, voicemail and the UNBSafe app.
The UNBSafe app is a comprehensive resource for information about safety and security on UNB campuses. In urgent situations, it will quickly notify users to take any necessary actions to ensure their safety. Alerts pushed to the app travel over both WiFi and cellular networks, giving it the potential to reach users faster than other communication channels.
The app also contains features such as general personal safety tips, emergency procedures, contacts for support services, training and workshops, campus maps, and “Friend Walk” and “Report a Tip” options.
