At Renaissance College, we know how important it is to celebrate the successes of all of our students. Our annual celebration dinner is an opportunity to invite your family and friends, get dressed up and to feel proud of all that you have accomplished during the past year.
With a catered three-course meal, live musical entertainment and an engaging keynote address, this event is one that we look forward to each year.
Prior to UNB’s campus-wide orientation events, first-year students take part in a three-day camping trip where you will get to know your Renaissance College classmates, professors and staff.
This camping trip helps to foster the close-knit family of learners that make up Renaissance College.
What better way to get to know your classmates than by sharing a tent, preparing meals together and participating in a service project.
Each semester, Renaissance College hosts at least one common meal. These events range from potlucks to themed meals with invited guests to pizza parties.
Our common meals provide an opportunity for all members of the Renaissance College community to gather, enjoy a good meal and have thought-provoking conversation surrounding a theme.
Once a week, our students, professors and staff can be found gathered around a table enjoying a bowl of homemade soup.
For the past 18 years, cross-cohort groups have come together to prepare soup for 70-80 people each week.
As a student, you will be required to find two recipes, shop for the ingredients on a tight budget and prepare the soup before class begins.
This long-standing tradition helps to foster a strong sense of community at Renaissance College and will help you to:
You also get a healthy, homemade meal!
Renaissance College students who excel academically and make the Dean’s List (GPA of 3.7 and above), are invited to our annual Dean’s List Tea.
At the tea you will get to celebrate your academic success while enjoying traditional English tea with milk, a sugar cube or a lemon wedge, as well as dainty sandwiches and a variety of pastries and squares.
Each semester, the Renaissance College Society hosts a Coffee House.
This event is open to anyone in the UNB community and offers you an opportunity to take a break from studying to showcase your skills and talents, meet new people and enjoy a hot drink.
