Undergraduate academic advising

Whether you have been accepted into the Bachelor of Business Administration, or you plan to enroll full-time or part-time in your degree program, you are now considered part of the Faculty of Management and we are excited to have you join us.

The Faculty of Management academic advisors are here as a valuable resource to guide you through your undergraduate career and ultimately graduation, whether you are a prospective, newly admitted or current student.

Connecting with an Advisor early in your university experience will be a major factor in your success. We encourage you to stay connected throughout your university experience to help avoid difficulties later.

Throughout your degree, we encourage you to be in contact with your advisor at least once a year to ensure you are on track and scheduled to graduate in a timely manner. You can connect with your advisor through scheduled in person and virtual advising appointments, or through email.

If you are thinking about pursuing an Honours (major), a concentration or a minor with another faculty throughout your degree, we strongly encouraged you to let your advisor know about this by the end of your second semester in your second year (after completing 60 credit hours).

Being aware of your plan will enable your advisor to work with you to ensure you are selecting the appropriate courses you need to reach your academic goals.

We're here to help you

  • explore your academic plan and goals
  • provide consultation regarding course selection, program and degree requirements
  • review and discuss academic standing, GPA and academic regulations issues
  • connect you with resources and services available on campus

By consulting with an advisor, you will have

  • the ability to make an informed decision regarding course selection, program and degree requirements
  • a clear understanding of your academic standing and regulations
  • the ability to access quickly resources and services on campus

How to use the service

  • Before meeting with an Advisor, please ensure you come to the advising session with a completed degree audit form, as well as a list of questions you wish to ask. It’s important to come to these meetings prepared to make the most of the time you have with your advisor.

  • Schedule regular advising appointments and consult with your academic advisor whenever necessary
