The Fraser Student Venture Fund provides students the opportunity to research and analyze businesses that are in the start-up stage of development and award cash investments to those they consider investment ready.
Up to two start-ups each year are selected to receive investments of up to $25,000 each from the fund, positioning them for further development.
UNB alumnus Charles Fraser (BBA ’68) established the Fraser Student Venture Fund in 2019 so that faculty of management students could live the experience of investing real cash in local start-ups.
“The primary objective of this program is to support and develop the natural entrepreneurial spirit within the management faculty. In turn, I see this fund eventually helping UNB play a more supportive role in the province’s economic growth. It is also my hope that this fund inspires others to support the faculty and its students.” – Charles Fraser (BBA ’68).
