To help get your idea off the ground, we partner with several organizations to offer students potential investment opportunities and grants. You will have access to a number of internal and external pitch competitions, demo days and events where you can meet with and talk to potential investors.
The RBC Technology Commercialization Program is a grant program that allows startups and aspiring entrepreneurs to apply for seed capital to conduct market validation and prototyping of their product.
The grant program is divided into three rounds, where incremental funding will be granted to applicants as they develop their business.
The grant funding is available to all UNB students who are trying to develop a product or service in the hope of starting their own business. A total of up to $10,000 is available to each individual or team throughout the three phases.
Individuals and teams must submit an application and present their business idea to the RBC TCP Committee.
The fund supports travel for student entrepreneurs involved with the TME programs and courses to cover all or part of the travel and accommodation costs involved in pursuing investment opportunities, meeting and mentoring by national and international entrepreneurs and leaders in business, and attending relevant business and entrepreneurship competitions and related events.
For more details on availability, as well as the application, eligibility and approval process, please reach out to nea.muhovic@unb.ca. The application process must be finalized at least two weeks prior to the intended travel start date.
