Established in 1990, we are Canada's original faculty of computer science. With an accredited co-op program and world experts within arm’s reach, we promote innovation to lead the digital transformation in all areas of life.
Our programs have an impact beyond your computer
In 2018, the Government of New Brunswick's department of health set a goal of improving access to digital health services to transform the way health care is delivered in the province. A key part of this commitment was giving patients and families access to their health information, allowing them to manage their health better.
Two University of New Brunswick (UNB) computer science students are on a mission to increase the visibility and participation of women in cybersecurity by establishing UNB’s first Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) student chapter. Hwany Kim (BBA’21) and Ashley Smith are the new chapter’s president and vice president.
The University of New Brunswick (UNB) faculty of Computer Science (CS) is piloting a leadership program in partnership with MESH/diversity, a software company co-founded by UNB graduate Mike Wright ((BBA’96, BCS’99). The company provides AI-driven equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) training for workplaces and organizations.
These days, artificial intelligence (AI) and data science are everywhere. From ChatGPT and Alexa to the most advanced research labs, the world increasingly relies on complex processes and vast amounts of data in areas like stock trading, image restoration, translation and developing new medications.
The co-op program equips students with skills in cybersecurity, data science, computer programming and software development, among others, preparing them to tackle the significant challenges of today in a fast-paced, increasingly digitized economy and world.
