Special conditions for laptops

• Laptops returned dirty may have a cleaning fee applied.
• Reservation renewals are subject to a week waiting period.
• Excessive late returns may result in being banned from use for a period of time.
• Due to security reasons, laptops cannot be delivered directly to the classrooms. They must be picked up at Equipment Services prior to use.

Late returns

Be aware of the following policies regarding late returns of equipment.

One (1) day late

• Email notification will be sent
• Automatic fine of $10.00 for:
  • All laptops
  • All data projectors
  • Video cameras
  • SLR cameras
  • GoPro
  • Sennheiser mics
  • P.A systems
• Automatic fine of $5.00 for all other equipment
• Fines must be paid before signing out any additional equipment

Two (2) days late

• Email notification will be sent
• Automatic fine of $40.00 for:
  • All laptops
  • All data projectors
  • Video cameras
  • SLR cameras
  • GoPro
  • Sennheiser mics
  • P.A systems
• Automatic fine of $10.00 for all other equipment
• Fines must be paid before signing out any additional equipment

One (1) week late

• Email notification will be sent
• Automatic fine of $80.00 for:
  • All laptops
  • All data projectors
  • Video cameras
  • SLR cameras
  • GoPro
  • Sennheiser mics
  • P.A systems
• Automatic fine of $15.00 for all other equipment
• Fines must be paid before signing out any additional equipment

Over one (1) week late

This is now an issue for UNB Security, as unacceptable non-academic conduct.

• Automatic fine of $20.00 per day will be applied or the replacement cost of the item
• You will be unable to use our services for one (1) month for the first offence and up to the remainder of the term for a second offence

Important: the equipment pool reserves the right to adjust the fines on a case-by-case basis.
