The mission of the Education, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee in the Department of Psychology at UNB is to foster and support an equitable and inclusive academic and working environment in the Department that is sensitive to diverse individual and professional backgrounds as well as their perspectives, experiences, and insights. The committee supports a broad definition of diversity including but not limited to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, culture, country of origin or indigenous heritage, religious or spiritual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, and their intersections. We believe attention to equity and diversity is essential for us to maximize learning, conduct rigorous and critical research, and engage effectively with each other and our surrounding community.
The Department of Psychology EDI Committee is open to all graduate and undergraduate students, staff, and faculty in the Department of Psychology at UNB. The EDI committee meets monthly, and meeting minutes are made public to the Department community to promote visibility, accessibility, and inclusivity.
