The Department of Classics & Ancient History offers a wide range of courses on all aspects of the world of the Ancient Greeks and Romans and their neighbours around the Mediterranean Sea.
Students have the opportunity to study Ancient Greek and Latin, progressing in as little as three terms to read classical authors such as Homer and Vergil in the original languages.
We offer courses on subjects such as history, literature, art and archaeology, warfare and gender and sexuality in the ancient world.
