Associated Alumni

Sponsorship program

The UNB Associated Alumni provides annual sponsorships to a wide range of organizations, associations, student and student groups, athletic teams and clubs in support of advancing the interests of the Associated Alumni, the university and its students.

Available sponsorships

Applications for all funding will be considered three times per year. The deadline for applying each year are:

  • Round 1 - April 30
  • Round 2 - Sept. 30
  • Round 3 - Jan. 30

All applications must be submitted electronically or dropped off at the Alumni Office. To apply for funding, an application package must be submitted consisting of:

  • Application form (below)
  • Budget form - will be sent to you by the Alumni Office upon completion of the application form.

Eligibility

The General Sponsorship Fund is available to:
  • UNB students
  • Student groups and organizations
  • UNB faculty and staff
  • UNB Alumni
  • Community members
Those ineligible for funding include:
  • Events that are political or religious in nature
  • Activities/projects that benefit a single individua

Application Review Process

Application criteria

  • All applications must be submitted electronically or dropped off at the Alumni Office.
  • Sponsorships will not be provided on a retroactive basis.
  • Funds must be spent on the project for which they are requested.
  • If the sponsored activity is cancelled, or the funding is not used within six months, the funds will revert to the Alumni Association.
  • Only one grant per fiscal year (May 1 to April 30) will be considered per applicant (exceptions may apply).
  • Grants will generally not exceed 75% of the total cost of the activity up to $3,500.

Applications for the Student - Alumni Engagement Fund will be considered as received by the Alumni Office. Applications must be received a minimum of four weeks prior to the event.

All applications must be submitted electronically or dropped off at the Alumni Office. To apply for funding, an application package must be submitted consisting of:

  • Letter of intent
  • Application form (below)
  • Budget

Eligibility

The Student - Alumni Engagement Fund is available to:
  • UNB full or part-time students (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Student groups or organizations
Those ineligible for funding include:
  • Events that are political or religious in nature
  • Activities/projects that benefit a single individual
  • Purchase of durable goods such as uniforms and equipment

Application criteria

  • All applications must be submitted electronically or dropped off at the Alumni Office.
  • Sponsorships will not be provided on a retroactive basis.
  • Funds must be spent on the project for which they are requested.
  • If the sponsored activity is cancelled, or the funding is not used within six months, they money will revert to the Alumni Association.
  • Only one grant per fiscal year (May 1 to April 30) will be considered per applicant.
  • Grants will not exceed $500.

Post event report

All successful applicants will be notified within four weeks of the submission deadline. Successful applicants will be required to submit a post-event report to the Alumni Office within four weeks of the event or activity taking place.
