Forces and moments are introduced with vector algebra, followed by the application of equilibrium conditions for particles and rigid bodies. Free body diagrams (FBD’s) are used to analyze trusses, frames and machines, as well as internal member forces (bending moment and shear force diagrams). Additional topics include friction, centroids, and moments of inertia.
