Fredericton | New Brunswick's capital city

Nearly 13,000 students from around the world choose to study in Fredericton. With a total population of 72,000, the large student population keeps the city vibe young and vibrant. This beautiful and historic capital city has a lively downtown with everything you need. It's safe, accessible and student-friendly.

Fredericton really embraces its student population. In addition to student discounts at many local businesses, the city also hosts a welcome-back BBQ in Officer's Square every September for new and returning students.

UNB's Fredericton campus is in the heart of the city with the downtown core only a ten minute walk away.

Things to do in Fredericton

The downtown is a Saturday tradition for locals and visitors. Each week over 200 vendors set up to showcase a tempting variety of fresh meat, garden vegetables, home baked goods, maple syrup, flowers, jewelry and more. Fredericton also has a vibrant cultural scene with various art galleries, music and theatrical performances.

Saint John | New Brunswick's Port City

You'll know as soon as you walk along the historic streets or stroll along the boardwalk that there is something extraordinary about Saint John. As the oldest incorporated city in Canada and the largest city in New Brunswick, you can feel its colourful past and intriguing modern edge.

Things to do in Saint John

Saint John has a vibrant cultural scene with local farmers and artisan markets, music and art shows going all year long.

  • Take advantage of the different hiking paths throughout the city, including those at Rockwood Park and the Irving Nature Park
