Category(s): Health
Status: Active
Principal: Chris Folkins
Project Number: P0122
Year Approved: 2024

Project Description

This study will use administrative data accessed via the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT) to conduct a retrospective examination of large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) cases in New Brunswick. Linked administrative databases will be used to identify historical LBCL cases in NB from 2006 to 2021, characterize LBCL patients in terms of basic demographics and disease characteristics, describe disease management including history of medical therapy and related interventions, and track clinical outcomes and associated healthcare resource utilization (HCRU).

This study will be the first to conduct an in-depth, population-level examination of LBCL-specific epidemiology, management, and outcomes in NB. The unprecedented depth of information resulting from this project will provide a foundation for ongoing research on LBCL in the province, and may help to inform policy and practice decisions in NB and beyond.
