The prevalence of diabetes mellitus has increased rapidly in New Brunswick within the last 15 years. This project profiles the correlates and gaps in access to comprehensive care for the prevention and management of diabetes and its common comorbidities, including conditions for which there is emerging evidence of shared risks and vulnerabilities across the life span.
The research taps into the rich information available uniquely through linked population-based data sets of demographic, clinical and geospatial socioeconomic indicators to help inform policy and programs leading to healthy populations, sustainable health system investments and better patient care experiences.
