Since its establishment, the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training has been focusing on different aspects of the province’s changing population. From projects on immigration, graduation, employment, retention, and more, we have examined implications and potential solutions to a rapidly aging and migrating population. Now, in a new report series, our researchers are providing bi-annual population snapshots that capture changes and movements in the New Brunswick population – starting now.
In the first report of the series, released in December 2021, we see several positive trends taking place. In particular, New Brunswick’s immigrant population is growing – and its age distribution is younger than that of the overall population.
