Regression is a powerful statistical tool that is used to understand or to make predictions about the world around us. Understanding what regression is and when and how it is used is the focus of this introductory workshop. The workshop includes a comprehensive introduction to regression methods and its utility. Equipped with this knowledge, participants will feel more confident in their ability to engage in discussions on the use of regression analyses and in interpreting results from regression models presented in various forms (e.g. print, presentations). By the end of this course, you will be familiar with and able to describe various components of regression and evaluate the results obtained from a regression model.

This workshop is led by Dr. Sandra Magalhaes, a researcher at the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT). Dr. Magalhaes is an epidemiologist with a strong interest in research methods and population health, and her research has been primarily focused on conditions of the brain such as dementia and multiple sclerosis. Seating is limited.
