Through a partnership between the Health Data Research Network (HDRN) and the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) 20 years of data on more than 50,000 aging Canadians will soon be available for research at research data centres throughout Canada. The goal of CLSA is to find ways to help people live long and live well by gaining understanding in the different factors that impact health. This partnership is a tremendous win for research in healthy aging.

“Linking the CLSA data to administrative health databases across provinces will enable researchers to make important population comparisons that will inform health-care practice and policies over time. Our partnership with HDRN Canada will allow for unprecedented research opportunities and, in the long-term, better health for all Canadians,” said Dr. Parminder Raina, a professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University and lead principal investigator of the CLSA.

Researchers interested in accessing linked CLSA data through DASH are invited to contact to be updated as data becomes available.
