Speaker biography: Eric Novinscak obtained his Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at the University of New Brunswick in 2003 and holds various top level network industry certifications. Currently working at Arista Networks in the Global Network Architecture Team, he is responsible for helping set the direction for Arista’s routing technologies, product strategy and supporting leading Service Provider customers in North America. Over the past twenty years Eric has worked for several leading Silicon Valley Network vendors and Tier 1 Service Providers in Canada.
Abstract: Arista was founded by industry luminaries Andy Becholsheim, Ken Duda and David Cheriton, launched in 2008, Arista has become the world leader in high speed 100G, 400G and 800G Ethernet Networking used by the largest hyper scale cloud providers in the world. We will discuss the evolution of the modern Network Operating System (NOS), how Merchant silicon has become a pivotal force in the evolution of networking technologies, representing a departure from traditional proprietary hardware. How these rapid innovation cycles have allowed for the creation of Hyperscale networks from Microsoft, Meta and Google and how ethernet is becoming the dominant technology used in next generation AI compute clusters.
