UNB is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which to study and work. We understand that seeing and celebrating our diversity is a key pathway to achieving that goal. This initiative is an ongoing project to catalogue various EDI related efforts happening in our community and offers ways to engage with this work.

Equity, diversity and inclusion survey

In November 2020 UNB partnered with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) to conduct an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Survey to help us better understand and support our employees and pinpoint areas where we can make the biggest improvements. Survey results

Equity, diversity, inclusion resources on SharePoint

A SharePoint site for equity, diversity and inclusion resources has been launched by Human Rights and Equity. This evolving space is intended to provide opportunities for the UNB community to engage in equity, diversity, and inclusion-related learning and to access issue-specific resources.

Chosen Name and Gender Identity Policy

UNB is committed to providing a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment in which to study and work - as such, the Chosen Name & Gender Identity Policy has been approved and is in the process of being implemented. The Chosen Name & Gender Identity form enables students, faculty and staff to indicate or change their name and gender within UNB systems without having to change their name legally or provide a reason for their request.
