The University of New Brunswick Fredericton welcomes applications for the position of Instructional Designer with the Office of Experiential Education. This is an 8-month term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with a salary range of $47,030 - $61,145 per annum.
The Office of Experiential Education works collaboratively with academic and support units at UNB and with external partners to support, strengthen, and grow experiential learning opportunities for UNB students. The Instructional Designer will work closely with a team from UNB and with external stakeholders to develop several key educational resources for students and employers.
Position summary:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of digitally engaging learning tools and compelling learning content for the Future of Work Skills Program.
- Develop and edit online learning content and materials.
- Analyze existing instructional material i.e., lesson plans, power points, video recordings.
- Troubleshoot digital/technical issues reported by content users.
- Create computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.
- Collaborate with subject experts to develop online/digital course content.
Requirements/Skills:
- University degree in education, preferably with a concentration in instructional design.
- 1-5 years of experience in course design, development, and support, as well as in designing and development program curricula in a post-secondary environment.
- Previous experience with developing educational resources required.
- Previous experience with project management an asset.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced work environment with new challenges daily.
- Highly observant, dynamic, and authentic in your work.
- Communicate effectively with teammates, with the ability to work and collaborate virtually.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Able to articulate reasoning behind creative choice.
